What is the Turkish Grand Prix?

The Turkish Grand Prix is the Formula 1 round held at Istanbul Park. It returns in 2027 under an agreement with Turkey's Ministry of Youth and Sports that keeps the race on the calendar for five seasons, 2027 through 2031.

Istanbul last hosted Formula 1 in 2021. Its earlier races were one-off slots added when other rounds fell through.

How to get to Istanbul Park

Transport for the 2027 race has not been announced. This page will be updated when the organiser publishes it. On previous race weekends:

  • Shuttles ran from central collection points.
  • Marmaray rail plus a shuttle was the most reliable option without a car.
  • Road traffic on the coastal road and the E-5 set race-day journey times more than the distance did.

How much are Turkish Grand Prix 2027 tickets?

There are no 2027 ticket prices because tickets are not on sale. Free pre-registration through the official channel is open, but it does not reserve a seat, hold a price or guarantee presale access.

At past Istanbul Park races, general admission sold far below grandstand seats, and the Turn 8 and Turn 1 grandstands sold out first. Resale listings for 2027 are for an event with no published date.

How does the Grand Prix affect Istanbul?

  • Hotels: an international crowd arrives for four or five nights and fills hotels across Besiktas, Beyoglu and the Bosphorus.
  • Nightlife: Friday and Saturday are the busiest nights, since the race runs on Sunday afternoon.
  • Roads: the circuit is far enough out that central roads do not close.
